Loads of them at North Wood (midlands meet locale) and a lot woods round my way in the Midlands., where i work Wiltshire hardly any, so I collect them and keep them stored for use.
Just been out to collect av few for you and this is all that was left,a few dark stains on the tree
The ones that i have in the garden seem to disappear,as you can see in the first picture there were loads ,but i think Woodpeckers wreck them looking for bugsThanks for that... weird innit... You either have them or you dont
Hi All,
Tagging on to this rthread because of its title. Went out yesterday with my eldest for a romp around the Forest of Dean and came accross a standing dead tree covered in King Alfred cakes. I collected a load so that I can use them to show the scouts fire lighting with them. What would anyone recommend as the best way to store them for later use?
Many Thanks
Rich
