Making memories since '67
Karen is running the London Marathon next year. She is raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. This is a charity we have had a lot of involvement with. Andrew Delaney a local teenager died of cancer and through the work of his family the Teenage Cancer Trust has become the local charity of choice.

Karen recently ran a charity fashion show in aid of the TCT. The models at this event were all patients or former patients.

This event was a great success and we managed to raise £4500 for the TCT. Sadly just this week, one of the models Claire Shannon died.

Karen is running the marathon in memory of Claire and Andrew and of course to raise money for the TCT. Please give generously

Now a few of you have offered to buy me a pint as a thank you for the group buys I have done. Well I have a confession to make. I don't drink beer  So if you want to say thank you now is your chance and your helping a good cause too.

Also just to confirm that I checked with Tony that it was okay to post this, in case it was considered too off topic.

If anyone's ran a marathon, you'll appreciate the effort in training and getting ready and will be happy to give a little ;)

If anyone's not ran a marathon, you'd be truly flabbergasted at the effort in training and getting ready and will be happy to give a little ;)

Good luck to Karen and all other's like her digging in for a great cause. My hat's off to anyone like that :)

Please present my compliments to your good lady. There is a small "thank you" for all you hard work on behalf of us all in the account

Well worth supporting. I don't usually like sponsor arrangements but this one is a bit close to my heart too.
All good wishes Karen :You_Rock_

Cheers,

This is very close to my heart at the moment as my younger Sister has been battling cancer this year.

I wish Karen all the best for the marathon.

That sounds like a fair trade. :D
Donated a few pints.

Best of luck to Karen! (and everyone else running for good causes may I add) :You_Rock_

Thanks again to everyone. The Marathon is this Sunday so we will be in London for that. Karen has had a lot of problems with her knee during training so it looks like she may have to walk a lot of the course but she is determined to finish.

Thanks again.

Good luck Karen - don't injure yourself! As impressed as we are with your effort and dedication, I'm certain I speak for everyone when I say one pace is good enough for all that has been sponsored to be paid with a smile and we wouldn't want any feeling of "obligation" to cause you any pain. Our gratitude is to you for raising our awareness of the cause, there is no necessity to push yourself beyond any sensible threshold

If she has to complete the marathon to get the dosh, there are a few of us here that would happily push her round in a wheelbarrow.Just say the word.

Good luck Karen :You_Rock_
