Just put an edge on my mattock, as i've got a stump to dig out before i can put a fence up for a customer.
I've found the the "axe" edge of the mattock to be very effective for cutting through the roots.

Turned into a "dream job", got there & the customer had already dug out the stump(bonus !). Then his good lady served me tea & a bacon roll, then later on his mum turned up with a tray of cakes !.
Got to go back tomorrow to finish off, wonder if they'll be anymore bacon ?.
