Is lilac wood toxic?

Funny that, just carved my third Lilac spoon! Used the first two and still alive and kicking.

Traditionally made musical instruments and knife handles so doubt it is poisonous.

Has a very hard heartwood that is truly beautiful but often has pithy bits in so can be very awkward to carve. Burns really well with nice smell. Can split if dries too quick.
