iPhone solar power charger

I've been looking into these for my big 200 mile charity hike because I have a little boy and would need to keep in contact.

I've scattered around on Amazon for one and come across this:

Looks brilliant from the reviews !! And for a tenner too, cant go wrong.

Don't know bout these as never tried them but I use Powermonkey explorer . Have a gander @ this site https://powertraveller.com. They have some great items suitable for your cause

I think you'll find it falls very short of expectation. I think you'd also find it difficult to present the solar panel to the sun for long enough for it to be effective.
I'd rather go with one (or 2) of these Powermonkey (You should be able to pick these up for around £10 if you shop around.

I've used one and it's charged an iphone for 2 goes before needing recharging.

I've also used one of these and in the uk climate, even in the summer, it had trouble recharging the battery even with the large solar panel.

Alternatively, why not pick up a cheap PAYG phone with a black and white screen - this will have a MUCH longer battery life than an iphone and couple it with a power monkey charger.

I didn't really think of an alternative PAYG phone. The trusty Nokia 3210 which held charge for a month would be quite handy!! Haha. With the occasional game of snake!

it was similar to this one with 3700mah battery. He said it charges his iphone at least 3 times on 1 charge.
