This thread has really intrigued me as I work In Opticians! Gotta say, great job wayland! They look like a great fit! Look great too. Gonna have to have a go.

What wood is it?

It is a bit of Beech I had knocking around in the workshop.

I took a rough profile from a pair of wraparound sun/snow glasses I had which were a reasonable fit and then just fettled them into the final shape as I was whittling.

Me missus says it must be like looking through the cracks of a cabin and that you'd get cabin fever using them! Lol.

It's not too bad actually.

They give roughly 20° angle of vision vertically compared to about 100° normally.

Our normal vision extends to about 180° horizontally because we have two eyes but I reckon the goggles reduce this to about 120° which could be improved by opening the slots further to the sides at the cost of letting in more glare.
