Im still stuck

Im still having problems deciding between the gerber big rock, or the fallkniven f1.
Obviously the F1 is slightly more pricy, but as bushcraft betty says, you get what you pay for!

Could anybody give me any good advice

Go for the F1. A bit pricier as you say but will last a lifetime if looked after properly.

I am constantly impressed by my F1.
I am constantly disappointed with my Gerber multi tool.
Just my opinion though.

Take it from a knife nutt and maker, F1 every time. Or you could check out the orange g10 bushtool I have for sale on the 'makers sales' its a very good price for a custom, i am open to sensible offers!

the F1 is way to much money, you are just paying for the name. There are lots of makers on here that can produce just as good a knife at a very reasonable price ( this is from a H1 owner ! ) and custom built to your own requirements, look around and find what you need / want.

( the F1 is much to thick to be usefull, great knife but REALLY not for everyday bushy things )

sorry, but the best couple of quid you'll ever spend on a "bushy" type knife has to be a Mora at less than a fiver, first class, bullet proof knife........try one first, its that cheap you can bin it if you don't get on with it.......bet you will though !!...enjoy !!

Moras break ! I agree that they are fantastic value but I have seen my mate who is a great bushcrafter and very experienced knife user( and maker) brake one on a survival course.

true Rob, but i've seen 4mm custom knives break as well, may well have been a fault in the process but i know which one i'd rather break !! LOL !

The Gerber looks useful for the money,I would expect to be constantly working on the edge if I was using it hard,I'm tempted to buy one tho' just to see how it holds up at the end of the day its priced around the £30 quid mark so what can be expected?
If you need any proof of the F1's worth try and find one second hand,they dont appear very often and I dont think its because no-one owns them
