As of Wednesday last week Im now officially an Assistant Scout leader with an ESU group near me. It's all a bit of an eye opener at the moment since I was an Army Cadet never a scout as a kid and before joining the Scouts I was an Adult instructor with the Air Cadets so the lack of discipline with kids not listening all the time and not calling you Sir was a little odd to get used to but I can see that the kids seem to enjoy it more with it all being slightly less formal all the time. Hoping to get taught more bushcraft type stuff which I can then pass onto the kids but otherwise Ill be happy teaching them shooting, archery and climbing once I get into it a bit more.
