She's from Essex, they are for keeping her ankles warm, you can see the dye has run and disguised her white stilettos.

My ex-submarine commander mate was not happy when that was announced. He thinks woman have no place on a sub even in the galley or hot-bunking. I think he worried that any hot-bunking wouldn't be a quick or clean change over!You'll get used to my sense of humour eventually.
