On a Saturday I like to have a wander around the local charity shops.
I get the occasional cracking bargain.
For example, in Oxfam in Broughty ferry I found a Dutch Oven for £3.50.
Well today I found an almost complete Trangia 27 for £5
All that's missing is the actual burner unit.
bonus.

I just hate reading about folks good luck in charity shops. :)

The only thing I seem to turn up are wool blankets and there's only so many of those one needs.

You jammy gits
all there is up here are moth-eaten flannel blankets, fifties handbags and china tea sets with various bits missing. It took me weeks to find a leather belt that I could make into a belt loop for a kukri sheath - so my hopes of finding a Bushy bargain are all but dead in the water.

Sounds like you have a better class of charity shop down by the Tay :p :) .

The pickings are pretty lean up here in Forfar  .

Cheers,

Pete.

Wouldn't say that
my OH got some Cross country skis in Forfar on Friday.
Perfect, if we get any more snow (just not for a few months, hopefully)

I do like having a troll in my local charity shops too, but it has been slim pickings the last few years but iI did pick up a Vaude fleece a couple of months ago in Sterling for a fiver (not one of my local shops) so can't complain.
A dutch oven for £3.50 I would say the bargain of the year.

The best I have found recently is a shemagh for £3
I do have a deal with a local place though with the girl working on monday, any leather goods I get for cheaper than their selling.
I have picked up some fairly decent leather that way.
But better than that, I once spent half a day in a skip gutting a leather sofa. haha
