hi all just got hold of a tarp and was wondering
how long do you lot have your para cord on the eyes of tarp ?
so i have an idea
might be how longs a peace3 of string question lol
but surely you all leave some para cord on your tarps then just rapp it up in tarp when not in use

Ridgeline wise I have 10 meters, which normally is too long (only once I ran short, as I used a big fat tree) - I'm thinking of decreasing it to 7-8 meters. On the corners I've got 2 meters, again to long - 1-1.5 will work I reckon.

I used to use 9m on the ridgeline and 3m for the guylines

i do this except mine is 10m for the ridgeline, any spare length i just hank neatly and tidily to one side which is everytime i use it lol. rather longer than shorter though, get it long and then experiment it wont take you long to work it out, i alsways take a spare hank or paracord with me anyway about 5m worth as its handy for washing line, extending the ridgeline etc and weighs nowt

I keep 15m available for my ridgeline and hank any surplus (which is nearly always the case) but I just likes having lots of spare line, you never know when you might need it :). I permanently attach the guy lines that came supplied with the tarp (DD) but I also have 4m lines that I can add on if I want to tie off to trees that are a bit further away. In that instance and depending on angles, I often use the original guy lines as extra tensioners by tying them with prussiks to the 4m guys.

Never enough and never in the right places.
Oh and there is always a mate who forgot his and you end up giving him yours.

12 metres for the ridgeline and 1.2m for the tieouts are about perfect for me on my DD 3x3 tarp.
I always carry spare line to extend the tie outs.

10M of 7mm on the ridgeline & 4x 6Mx5mm for the guys on camo mini crabs (for easy moving around). It works for me until the GB Dynema turns up * then it will be time for a rethink. I like something heavy over my head when I am hammocking, so I like a bit more than 550 to hang my ridgeline; it weighs a bit more but having some heavier rope to hand (plus 2 crabs on the hamock) has paid off a couple of times, so I like it.

i don't really have a fixed amount of cord connected to my tarp, i don't always set it up the same way so sometimes a length of cord on one of the corners is just in the way. i carry cheap pretend paracord; 2X10m 4X5m 4X2m and some "odds and sods", which allows me to set my basha up in all sorts of configorations (spl?) and gives me loads of spare for......well whatever really....cord's handy. for group camps i usually swap the 10m paracord for some poypropelene in really hi-vis orange in the hope that i won't get fallen over.

and, no, i don't leave any cord on my basha when i pack it away.
