Just dug out my old Filofax Portland with a view to bringing it back into use, i normally have a Collins Ideal A6 hardback notebook handy, but it can be a pain as it doesn't fold flat, whereas the Portland will lay flat, plus if i need to scan any of my notes for Doctors etc i can easily remove the page scan it and return it.

Fond memories of the Portland it went all over the world with me for years and years on business and never let me down and it doesn't need batteries.

Thought id look up how much they cost these days on the second hand market, glad i was sitting down.
Made in 1996 to 99 costing about £56. Needs light training to be completely flat. Ebay prices are about £80 to 100. Not bad but they were from the overseas manufactured years (we're still in them) so there could be better vintage ones out there from pre 1993 when they were all made with a higher quality in England. Mind you that one looks nice. I did see a £50 ish one recently I was tempted by.
