How do I change the text editor?

I know where it is in settings but when I click save it doesn't change. I can't get any emoticons to work and have no formating tools at all. Any ideas pls? Bo

Top man! I now have all the functions and the smilies work!

It's now reverted back to before. No smilies and it doesn't keep the formatting of anything I type. Any ideas?

I've discovered it something to do with Firefox. I'm running 9.01 but I also have Aurora installed too.
I've downloaded Google Chrome and it's working fine on that.

Firefox has been loosing the cursor sometimes but not always, no problems with IE9
