Hello all I thought I would introduce myself since I am new to this site. I am an ex-pat living in the Alpujarras in Southern Spain near the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We live in a little village of about 50 people, I have mountain water to drink from a fountain by my house, live on the GR7 walk and have the Park Natural and the mountians behind me. I am have been interested in hunting, survival and the outdoor life for many years mostly learnt from my late father and from his extensive military background. Most of which you can practice here with out any problems. It is common place to carry a knife (for outdoor purpose) on a belt with out issue. Hunting rifles to be in cars and in the bars mainly on Bank Holidays (none of which is heard of in the U.K) trained dogs for hunting which you can get near too either. It is a very relaxed life and great for the outdoors, although summer often gets to 40c plus. I hope to learn new ideas from fellow members and maybe share some of mine. Due to the nature of where we live 1000m above sea level and the nearest town being 1 hour away you have to make do with salvaging old/damaged kit and customising existing too. I look forward to your comments and hope being an ex-pat does no spoil things too much.
