Know your hogweed and avoid any with purple spotted stems.
The current weather is causing an explosion of many plants, I've never seen himalayan balsam so large (stems 4" thick).
Buried in the balsam on my boat mooring must have been some giant hogweed. I didn't see it, just discovered the evidence on my leg later.
Take care in long vegetation, particularly near waterways. If you suspect contact, wash the area thoroughly and (most important) keep it out of the sun.
