I'm a wild trout fisher who loves survival = minimal gear on forays + free fishing wherever possible.
Look forward to picking up tips and contributing to threads
Thank you all very much and, as they say in Scotland, "orrabest for 2015!"
Brynglas, what is the average size of your wild brownies on Islay/Jura? The scenery there on the GEOGRAPH website is truly amazing.
Hi, Yes, Islay is fantastic, Jura is as well. Some great remote lochs and coastline. Quite a few of the more accessible lochs are stocked and managed by the estates. Sizes probably average 2-3lb but I've heard talk of bigger. If you get a chance it's well worth a visit
Hi and welcome to BCUK from a fellow Scot and wild trout angler.
One my perfect scenarios in life involves a remote location, plenty free trout fishing and enough trees to keep me off the ground and comfy in my hammock...a simple man with even simpler needs!
