Helle knifes

ok jusrt a few quike Q's
i refer mainly to the harding knife
1 are they any good,
2 what sort of thang do they have


i like the look of the knife but will settle for a nice general blade with a wooden handle have ye anyother sugestions say ballpark £50, will almost abuse the knife so dont want to spend a who lot of money on one

I own and love a helle Futura

It gets a beating every time we are out and still somes back for more. My knife after a year or so plus a scandi grind are inseperable when outdoors. Its a strong knife triple lam steel so the edge of a softer high carbon blade with out the stain and rust problems. The Curley birch handle is now like glass but grippy at the same time . I have battoned with it loads of times and it shows no damage and still polishes up like glass. Its a belter of a knife if you can find a shop where you can handle one do it. They do a few that are a bit small but the larger ones are ace.

I have a helle. It's hidden tang and has got a great edge. I've got it for 6 years now, but the disign hasn't changed. The sheath has a plastic insert nowadays, but the rest is the same (except the updated logo).

And it will survive any kind of abuse, since these laminated blades dont break. You only have to bend them back.

2. the Helle knives have a hidden stick tang. Some knives (Harding and Trofe) have a stud on the end that's used to secure the knife in the sheath.

I have a Fjellkniven from Helle and have found it to be an excellent knife.
It takes and holds an very sharp edge and has never let me down.

I bought it from Heinnie.

Helle Harding is a very good choice of knife at that price point. My girlfriend has had one for a few years now and yes, it gets abused
