as the title really, can someone point me towards an online guide for identifying helicopters? southey, i'm looking at you here

reason i ask is that a mahoosive great military looking thing just flew over my house incredibly low, and i'm just curious as to what exactly it was

thanks in advance

cheers for that mate :)

best match from that link would be: CH-3E/HH-3E jolly green giant (sikorsky)

but i'm not 100% certain, does anyone know anything about military flight paths in the UK? is it likely that there was a jolly green giant in kelstedge today? (i never thought i'd get to ask that as a serious question!)

cheers

A Puma (although they are smaller) is another RAF one that I regularly get flying near me, I live right next to a RAF helicopter base. It's usually either a Chinook, Puma or Merlin as mentioned above.
