unfortunately heather honey needs heather i.e. calluna vulgaris flowers and that bee is on an erica cultivar from Portugese type ericas i.e. heaths not heather. not just being pedantic:eek:, the entire structure and texture of the honey is different. so you only get real heather honey fom hives with a very high percentage calluna only foraging i.e. in middle of north york moors or similar... yawn, I'll go back to boring someone else now

nice one BR. The bees are going nuts at the farm too, we've got three hives which have come through the winter well. Two died though.

I wish I nuderstood apiary aswell. :rolleyes:

I'm beginning to beelieve that they might be better at looking after themselves. I might try a top bar hive.
