Is there such a thing as a tempering guide/chart .
That would help me to see what colour to achieve so it matches the tools i'm making.
i.e
knife = straw
chisel = purple ? etc etc

something like this at the bottom of page. BUT remember all things are very subjective, your pale straw may not be the same as somebodyelses straw Also, the actual colour may not relate to the temperature suggested depending on the type of steel, the time at temperature, the environment of the oven and the surface condition of the metal.
