Heads up - blacksmithing course Oxfordshire

I found a blacksmithing course online, at a local Oxfordshire museum for only £100...

I thought that is pretty darn cheap for a weeks course..?

I am thinking of enrolling if i can get the money off the mrs (all our money is going towards the wedding fund at the mo..), and also get the time off work.

BE WARNED - once you hit hot steel you get the addiction and will be buying your own kit before long.

The £100 is the fee you (or your employer) needs to pay after getting funding from Heritage Craft Alliance LTD for the other 70% of the course fee. Standard fee for the course is £500 +VAT.

I'd guess that 'Defra funded course aimed at those in rural craft training or employment.' will be pivotal in who's accepted for help with the funding.

Thanks for posting, bushcraftbob. I passed this info on to my daughter-in-law who managed to get the last place on the course. She's delighted.
