I have looked and looked for a suitable way to set up my hammock and basha in my garden to give it a go, however, having no trees makes it difficult. I can't see anywhere to tie them too, therefore I am wondering how I could possibly accomplish this task.

Thank you.

You could make an A frame.(or two).
It is what it sounds like, look at a childrens swing it is two metal a frames with a crossbar, usually, instead of a crossbar use two guy lines to hold the a frames apart. The uprights can be made with 2x2 as long/high as you need, the brace across is optional, lash the tops to make an A shape bury the bottoms to stop them sliding, the put a guy line attached to a good anchor away from where you will hang as when you put the weight on the uprights they will want to pull together, the guy lines are to stop this.
This is a case of a picture painting a thousand words! Unfortunately I cant find a picture :(
Or try an old kids swing frame :approve:

what you need is one of these

this is a very fancy version but you could make a nice stand from some 2" x4" that bolts together
i think Fenlander built a stand not too long ago

rushed post got to go

if you just want to test your setup why not walk to your local woods and try it out there? Other wise yeah you will need to buy or amke something to hang it from.

Have fun playing with them, sure you will enjoy it once you get in there.

To Cyclingrelf: I thought about that, but my dad wouldn't be too chuffed, we have a new fence.
To Goose: Yeah, that makes sense :D
To jdlenton: Ta, for the link, yes, that would be good but i would want it to be higher for basha use
To Andyn: I think i will try making something rather than buying, so I can have it larger so I can tie a basha to it :D.

I'd go with Goose's idea :)

I made a hammock frame in my garden a couple of years ago but as my hammock was so big and I used railway sleepers split length ways to build it my Wife said it loked like the remains of a viking ship and that it was too big for the garden....so I had to take it down and get rid of it. :lmao:
