I have been wanting a Grohmann for many years now, and found one for a price I just couldn't resist yesterday!
It's just the standard #1 D.H. Russell, in stainless with rosewood handle slabs. So far I like it, alot, but haven't had time to really put it through it's paces. It did come in a nice box, with a full line catalog.
The sheath is ok, could be better. Hangs on a leather strap, Scandi-sorta style.
This knife has a great feel in the hand! I've done a little whittling with it, a little kitchen chopping, and otherwise just "fondled" it a bit. I don't know how good the edge holding is gonna be yet, haven't dulled it enough to find out.
I don't know why :?: , but I really like this size of knife!
Very nice looking rosewood handle, good over-all fit and finish, and came reasonabley sharp out of the box.
Here are a couple of pics with my Bark River Norhtstar for comparison:
A spine shot of both:
And, in "the bush":
I really like this knife!
