Greetings to all,
I just signed up with the forum and I'm looking for others who enjoy making their own equipment. I'm a natural born artist and craftsman, thoroughly an amateur but with a bit of a paying hobby.

My name is Al, and I'm from Newfoundland and now living in New Brunswick, in Atlantic Canada. I have a degree in Environmental Biology and although I'm not doing it for work any more, I still make use of what I know for recreation.

My favorite activity is making my own equipment, and recently I finished a slingshot patterned after a .410 guage double barrel, and when the snow melts a bit more (hopefully this week) I'll find the piece of wood I have to make a replica flintlock as a slingshot. I also like taking Boomer, my border collie, out and looking for natural materials.

I'm also a flytier, although I haven't been at it much the last few years. Maybe this year; I'm off work between bone surgeries right now and things get pretty boring.

But I'll sign off for now. My tablet battery is almost dead here. Looking forward to some good conversations. Take 'er easy, all.

Al

How's it going everyone, just got a new tablet - one that works right - and when I get things set up I'll be able to post links to some of the things I like to make. It's almost spring and I'll have some projects on the go, depending how I feel next month after surgery. I lost last summer due to it and I got a bit of weed genetics to catch up on amongst other things.

But for now, I'll get this new rig set up and stuff. I'm assuming Proton's cloud storage will suffice for a folder to link to; if there's a better cloud storage or a more standard one used, it'd be appreciated if someone can point me to something more appropriate.

Have a good one from Atlantic Canada.

The Proton Drive link you posted in your profile is accessible to me without needing to login or anything, so should work fine.

Excellent. That 3 headed fish was something I found when I working at a salmon hatchery. 2 headed are common, but this is super rare. Tks for the heads up, cheers for now.

Hey guys, I'm slowly getting things transferred onto my new tablet. Made too many changes and had to reset the whole system. Took most of the day.

I started out using Google Drive but I decided to go with Proton Drive instead for those here that prefer something more trustworthy. There's a link on my profile page but I'm going to see about putting a link to it more in the open. Any tips would go great.

But yeah, I mentioned a 3 headed fish a couple posts back but forgot to stick it in my folder. This is not CGI, its the real thing... Check out the link on my profile; there's a couple pics of my projects in there now with more to come. But for now, my coffee's hot and I'll get this thing set up a bit more. I remember when digital text messaging meant Morse Code.

The 2 headers are a dime a dozen, but seeing this was a first for people with lots more experience than me. I somehow managed to spot as it whipped by me in a siphon hose, if you can believe that. Made sure I had a picture of that one for posterity. I'd love to find a biologist to show it to; my biology is ecologically oriented more so than embryology.
