Who knows
Well probably not what you expected as this is about my SAK and not an axe but the title is relevant.
Well i just got my SAK back from Bushwacker bob with brand new handles, they are made from fallow deer antler with a small walnut insert and red liners.
he done a great job and even managed to incorporate the tweezer and toothpick holes plus the victorinox sign

Just when I thought your work couldn't get any better Sean!

Leon, I'm sure you have said "cheers" - but I hope you realise just how much work has gone into that! That is a truly startling piece of work.

BTW BB if you want some more Fallow, I have a very large piece you would be welcome to next time you pop by

yes i know how much work has gone into it, it took him ages to get the toothpick holes right and i think he went through 3 bits of antler, it is an absolute beauty

Yes please Red,its very thin walled antler and I had to chop up loads of the stuff to find suitably thick pieces that were wide enough to cover the width of the blade but also thin enough to make SAK scales.
|I also had to incorporate the small tools,Granny-Bs walnut and keep it looking like a Victorinox, hence the red liners and Victorinox badge.
Your right,a lot of work went into it!;)

I'll keep it for you. I have a couple of nice bits of wood that might come in handy in your good works too. Bob round when you want it

What a cracking job it totally transforms the knife and the preservation of the typical SAK features (Logo and tool holes) finishes the look perfectly. Nice one Bushwacker keep an ear out for Victorinox tapping at your door! ;)

Stunning! Beautiful work! Can't say enough how great it looks.

Leon, you are on the road to a fantastic knife collection if you keep getting things like this.

Good on you, young bushcrafter!
