Greetings!

Just a gothic dagger today, for those of you who would rather ling around in the middle ages, instead of this shameful era with a festering technological open wound. (I would of course miss a few things from this disgraceful time, like penicillin, electricity and a few other unnotable, really just minuscule advancements that improve our current lives :D :D :D )

What would you miss the most? I am curious :)

Looks very service-able for finishing off downed knights...err. ;) Nicely done.

What would I miss most...wow, so many choices. The thing i would miss most though is the last 20 to 40 years of my life...I am 40 now, and the median life expectancy for a man in Middle Ages Britain, excluding infant mortality, was about 48. After that, I would miss the freedom to voice opinions about science, religion and politics (outside this forum ;)) and the local lord without risking mutilation or death. I do think that was a slightly silly question, or at least, it is open to rather a lot of silly answers, and mine is no more or less so than Johns :lmao:

I'd miss modern medicine. Several times in my life I've had illnesses or injuries that in the medieval times would have killed or crippled me. Ditto one of my children.

That's a very nice dagger, lovely design, very neat and elegant.

Thanks a lot! :)
Yeah, I myself should have been dead already. Had a now quite simple case of appendicitis at the age of five. So the last 30 years are just bonus :D

Leaves will never be a substitute for "Triple Velvet! ... sphagnum moss is good though....
As to voicing opinions without danger to life and limb ... well I am married so do not get that luxury...
Modern medicine - don't get me started! Half my problems are due to misdiagnosis and the other half down to side effects of drugs I take as a preventative to the effects of modern lifestyle and food!
Increased lifespan.... well OK but if I had died young I would not have the pain that comes with age now... and Heaven was a guaranteed reality back then so I would be much better off AND I would have made a good looking corpse (too late for that now!) AND I might have had the oportunity to play with nice shineys like the dagger without worrying about knife legislation ...
:)

Modern medicine has saved my butt several times (respiratory infections). Could have been dead some 30 years ago.
The symmetrical design of the dagger is really appealing. Blade 8" - 10" in length?

I always travel with appropriate antibiotics. Take them at first 'lung signs'.

I double that! :)
I always have asocilin around in the house and my pack. I know, I know, it is for veterinary use, but it is a damn good ointment, almost magical! :D Since I use it, I didn't have a wound infection at all, and I do have quite my share of cuts, burns and other trauma.

Hellize,
Are you familiar with Monty Python and the Holy Grail? A wonderful portrayal of medieval life :D

Due to language, I won't post the vid here, but go look at Youtube and search for "Monty Python-Bring out your dead!" [h=1][/h]

Nice dagger though I prefer my Scottish Dirk myself. What would I miss?

Well not penicillin for one, I am allergic to it. I could manage without electricity, but without the internet, well I would miss that.
