Gerry Rafferty has died.

A short and troubled life according to the obituary.

The name may not mean much to all you youngsters, but some folks of a certain age will remember that he produced some fabulous music.

Still can't go through that tube station without wanting to wail out a few "air sax" notes!

Indeed, all of warrington (at least those that think beyond their dole check) are in mourning, why couldn't they have taken kerry katona instead?
sad to hear about Gerry, amazing music. Bakerstreet tbh i heard later on, it was stuck in the middle with stealers wheel i first heard.
bakerstreet is a total classic mind, as is Right down the line.

"...Indeed, all of warrington (at least those that think beyond their dole check) are in mourning..."

It was only when I read through his obituary that I learned he was from Warrington, I'd always thought he was Irish, possibly from having seen his performance in 'In the Name of the Father'. A great loss to the acting world. :(

Recorded most of his stuff in Chipping Norton, Cotswalds. Six pubs with only 1 duke box between them and a crappy chinese retaurant. If Gerry had wanted the quiet life he certainly could get it there, not in a hurry to go back to the cotswalds.
