It's been several years when I first became aware of this forum and we've had some great banter. I initially got involved in the thread "Wilderness cabin? http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=80079 since our homestead was the topic of discussion. There are so many positive things that I could discuss associated with our lifestyle. One of our greatest joys is hopping on a float plane for our semi annual resupply run. It is not only a source of pride for us that we travel this way but it's exhilarating to take a flight. Equally exciting is to have the plane scheduled to come in, be waiting on the beach, and see a distant speck approach, increasing in size and then zoom by the house as it circles around to land.

I created a short video and I'm pleased to give you a chance to experience a float plane flight from your computer screens. It also shows you the wilderness we live in. I hope you enjoy it.

Macaroon... Thank you for the kind comment. It has been a wonderful experience out here. 16 years so far in this location.

Nomad Leather Tramp... Yes it is a frozen lake. I call it a float plane that has been converted to skis for winter use. Or a float plane on skis. This particular float operator doesn't run a piston plane in winter. I suspect you are talking about something like the beaver. That's a great plane too!
