brian, yup first "bushcraft course"

i did very basic survival camping as a scout but it was more about building dens and working out how to skin a rabbit!

i have heard of other courses but could never afford it, getting a "qualification" was the clinching descision as i am trying to get into the bushcraft industry.

it's a good place to start!

i went on the "Woodland survival crafts" GCSE survival course it was a 5 day course i thought reasonably priced and the traineing area was in a lovely oak/birch wood on the derybshire/leicestershire border.

Just out of curiosity, was it a recognised GCSE course, or an OCN level II course which is equivalent to a formal GCSE?

Just clicked on the link provided by Rappleby2000 and answered my own question. It's an OCN qualification, not a GCSE.
