Galloway forest in winter?

Hi all,

Has anyone visited the Galloway Forest Park in winter?

I'm wondering about a winter weekend getaway to enjoy solitude and snow.

Does it get much of the white stuff usually?

You tend to get more in the central and eastern parts than you do on the west, if you can put in a few extra hours driving I'd head for the Cairngorms.

Saying that who knows what the weather brings these days
