North West, near the land of the Pies
Had a walk round Speke Hall today in Liverpool. Decided to go fungi spotting, even though i know next to nothing about them :lol I did happen to meet a bloke for the North West Fungi Association though, but i've forgot most of the names !!

Anyway, here are a few shots, and there are some more in the link at the end :)

Hope you like them !! Oh yeah, all shots took on my mobile phone (W900i)

Go on matt see if you can do number 2 Andyn is right on the rest me thinks

Anyone else not CHICKEN enough to ID it want to give it a go.

To make sure something is honey fungus, the gills should run down the stem slightly and spore is white. Nearly every look like to it has gills that attach latrally or are detacthed and the spore prints are brown.

The bottom is whats known in trade as an LBM, a little brown mushroom, very few are eaten. The picture could be fairy ring champigion but it could just as easly be a host of different fungi that could put you in hospital.
