Where can I go? I've just bought a DD frontline hammock and tarp and I'm desperate to try it out in a woodland where i am allowed to use an axe and have a fire. Is there anywhere? Everywhere around here (north west of north yorkshire - Richmond-ish area) seemed to be owned by shooting chaps and flouncy Italians.

Have you made any enquiries with the local landowners yet, google maps and a bit of door knocking can sometimes turn something up.

I know from visiting friends in the area that there's a lot of big estates and you'll likely get a cold reception, maybe try and seek out the smaller patches of woodland and try to find out who owns them.
