Last weekend I started a flint knapping immersion course with Woodland Ways in Derbyshire (I have no affiliation or vested interest) and thought I would share the fruits of the first weekend. The course is 6 weekends of learning to knap various tools taught by Karl Lee who has his own company primitive technology. Below are some of the things we were able to make from a single flint node, among the items are a hand axe, hide scraper, arrow head, drill, burin, a saw which has a proper name beginning with D but I can't remember. I'm looking forward to the next session where I will hopefully improve but for my first ever go I'm really happy.
