Spent a very enjoyable day at Berrycrost Hub on a flint napping courses. The course was run by Karl Lee from Primitive Technology. Good introduction to techniques without it being overwhelming. We had a go at making a scraper, flaking ‘tools’ of a core and shaping arrow heads. Great tuition and Karl was a great teacher.

Learnt enough to practice and can’t wait to get out and find some flint and have a play about.

Berrycroft Hub was a great venue and a nice range of courses.

Years ago I sat entranced watching Karl make a flint spear head. Beautiful work :)
He made it seem so very 'possible' and when he was finished I had this really quite sophisticated tool in my hand that I'd watched him make from a rough bit of stone.
I've found cores, tiny shards, chipped arrowheads, etc., while working, but seeing him make that piece kind of made it all make sense somehow.

Pleased to hear he's still teaching, pleased to hear you had an enjoyable day of it
