Fishing in Saltstraumen

I was out with a friend Friday night fishing in a nearby tidal stream, Saltstraumen.
Thought I show some of the catch.
One of the cods we got. Weighted 5 kiloes without entrails and head.

Saltstraumen is known outside norwegian border for its good fishing. World record for Black pollock (Pollachius virens) is taken in Saltstraumen.

We also got several other smaller cods and 8 small pollocks.

This cod was made into fish gratin the following morning and some of it eaten today. It was very tasty.

Hope this is an inspiration to get others out fishing.

Some good eating that, would cost about a million quid for that much cod at our supermarket..

My friend fished over in Norway for cod and had a fantastic time!! I have always fancied it since he told me about it, monster cod!!!
