I finished my first spoon out of ponderosa pine. No plan to it, just started whittling, so I don't know how practical the design is. I made some crooked knives and gouges for carving. I like the way both tools work and haven't settled on a preference yet.

Hope you can get a forge going soon, Leo. It's very easy (and cheap) to make a propane burner from simple plumbing parts and a coffee can forge.
