First Ladybird of the year

Came across this one while walking on the moor today just outside Minions

I saw my first butterfly of the year the other day - no picture, sadly!

Here in western Canada, the Ladybird beetles hibernate by the hundreds in nooks and crannies all over our houses (cracks around door frames are most popular.)
Thanks for the pleasant reminder of spring. The first one that I see is commonly some poor beast flying around inside the house!
Not done with winter, 2cm fresh snow and -10C again last night. Give it 4-6 weeks yet.

Found some Primroses today, way too early for them, the Snowdrops are still blooming.

Our Snowdrops are starting to die back,we have literally hundreds of Primroses here,they've been up for weeks now.
