You’ve got to tell us now! I hoped that they might replace the pen down the side of my SAK, but I think they’re a bit thick really. If I had a pillar drill they would be in the handle of every knife I own!

So go on, what’s your idea.

thats pretty much it, to put it in a spartan sak, ill change both scales to hawthorn (like here BB tutorial and here first sak mod ) and make them a bit thicker so hopefully i can fit the steel in, oh and the best bit, a tiny little box elder burl handle shaped like to toothpick and tweezers. The standard handles are around 3mm thick so if i up it to around 4-5 there should be plenty of room.

then you just need a striker, ive not decided what to use really either:
sacrafice a bit of the knife edge to using the FS,
mount something else in the handle as a striker (a thin sliver of hacksaw blade?),
use the edge of the bottle opener/ can opener etc (file down to square edge if need be),
or... i could take apart the sak and change the cork screw or something to a purpose built striker, i dont like this idea and to be honest i dont think i could actually do it. theres a few examples of "hard mods" like this on sosak

well there you go an sak that can make fire you could even have a tinder box built in :thinkerg:
