Not many people who can start a story "I fell off this viking longship and......"

I can imagine the real beginning of the tale going along the lines of...
"It was a beautiful Summers day with hardly a breath of wind, the water was flat as a board.
The ale/mead had been flowing since breakfast and at about tea-time we all decided it would be fun to take the longship out.... "
