I got an email notification from Paypal today saying id made a fraudulent transaction, now thinking this was a scam, i went to my Paypal account, i hasten to add by typing the address into the address bar in Firefox rather than by clicking on a link in the mail, which i never do anyway.
To my surprise, there it was, in big red letters on my account history page, apparently some woman i sold a Road Angel Radar Detector to, via Ebay a year ago, yes a year ago almost to the day, has instigated a claim against me for an unauthorised withdrawal of funds from her account.
Now, she won the auction on ebay and she sent me the money for the goods the same day as the auction ended and i then sent the goods via Royal Mail recorded delivery, thankfully i still have the receipt showing the tracking number, her post code and house number on file, she has left positive feedback on my ebay account saying "item received quickly", so i don't see how im the one committing fraud, surely she is, as she admits to receiving the goods but is now trying to get her money back via a fraudulent claim on Paypal?.
Not once in the past year has she contacted me via Ebay or via email to say there was a problem, now ive told all of this to Paypal, sent them copies of her payment, the Recorded Delivery receipt from the Post Office, a screen print from my Ebay feedback page of her saying it was received and a nice Green positive rating, and a copy of the POD from the Royal Mail showing her signature and address when she signed for it last January.
When i advertised the detector, it was advertised truthfully and honestly and it worked perfectly, i even contacted Road Angel and transferred the registration via the Serial Number on the unit to her address so she could down load updates for it, it had all of the cables, in car power lead, mounting bracket's both magnetic and windscreen mount, the only thing it didn't have was the original box.
But now a year later she is shouting the odds and claiming fraud, im hoping Paypal will see through her as ive supplied copies of everything that shows it was paid for by her, and was despatched and received and that she openly acknowledged the receipt of it on Ebay, ive also explained that i have had not had any contact with her whatsoever since the transaction went through and that not once in the past year has she said there was a problem with the unit.
Thing is, i know i have done absolutley nothing wrong, but i feel like a criminal with this hanging over me, it's not even a lot of money at stake and i just cant get my head around why she has this a year later, it doesn't add up.
I just have to wait for Paypal now, i know there is probably nothing to worry about, but it's a horrible feeling having this hanging over you, when you know you have done nothing wrong, just needed to get this off my chest, as they say " a problem shared, is a problem halved".
