It would have to be my WS Woodie.

For years and years i have wandered around this fine nation with all manner of wierd and wonderful knives. From Sheath knives to folders with all sorts of exoctic steels and price tags to match.
Never have i found a knife that doesn't give me blisters, doesn't slip, will take shed loads of abuse and still go back to the condition in the photo with minimal work.
It will hold and edge to shave with and that is SO easy to maintain.

I love this knife, i know some would consider it sacrilage to use a now "collectable" knife, and some hate these knives with a passion but this knife will stay with me and continue to be used for years to come.

Great to see people who are not afraid to use Woodlore's.
I love my WS Micarta and it's my most used fixed blade, they are a great design and it's a real shame that so many are now locked away by owners who are afraid to use them.

I can't understand how anyone could lock away their Woodlore and never use it. It is probably my favourite piece of kit. Beautifully made and wonderfully practical, it goes with me everywhere (alright, not to airports or shopping centres). Hot on its heels is my Alan Wood stainless Bushcrafter. It's a bit longer than the Woodlore, made with an RWL34 stainless blade with black fibre liners and giraffe bone slabs. It looks gorgeous and does everything that the Woodlore does. Fabulous!

Of course it would be remiss not to post this picture of my favourite knife in it's normal home. The other picture was a bit older. The knife now lives in one of RB superb sheaths :D real quality work and the envy of all my outdoor friends who love this sort of specialist work :)

My favourite bit of kit is my Ventile smock from west winds. Bought it last summer having had a hankering for one for a long time! I can honestly say I have worn it every day since. Fantastic bit of kit, extremely comfortable and made in the UK too (about 3 miles from where I live). Can't think I'll replace it any time soon. love it.

Tabacco...... ;) I can cope withou most things but I'm a real grumpy bunny if I'm without a ciggy for very long :)

Bam. :D

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with Bam. Tobacco is one of those fantastic little pleasures that man should not have to be without. Because as Oscar Wilde said "A cigarette is the perfect type of a perfect pleasure. It is exquisite, and leaves one unsatisfied. What more can one want? "

On a more serious note, I'd have to say my favourite piece of kit is my little Driver model SAK. I carry it with me everywhere I go, it does everything I ask of it and more. If I don't have it with me, I usually start to cry. :lmao:

Tough one.

I think my favorite bit of kit would be my Swedish Army Trangia - in stainless steel.

Yes I have a nice custom knife, Stewart Marsh, although I tend to fall back on my Frost Clipper. I have a nice GB SF axe which is wonderful, and loads of other great gear.

I just really like the simple yet totally practical design of the SA Trangia. I can use it with the supplied burner or over a fire. It boils water for my tea and warms my food, great piece of kit.

It has to be my Ventile jacket, partly because I managed to buy it in mint second hand condition off eBay for just £66 inc postage (!) but mainly because it has seen me through some horrendous weather and has been the definition of practical throughout.I'm not entirely sure on the make - the label says 'Survival Aids' and the toggles have Rohan stamped on...either way it is green, windproof, waterproof, hooded, has great pockets, is warm in winter and cool in summer and has an inner pocket to keep my smokers pouch of tinder - such that I'm not sure I even can light a fire anymore without wearing the jacket :)

My Cup.
It's one of the old steel kidney shaped army ones that goes with the metal water bottle and has the two wobbly metal d-rings as a handle.

Why? Coz of all the trips I've been on, it's always there, always useful, and I've never seen a cup I'd rather have. Be it up a mountain in Norway, up a hill in the Lakes, at the bottom of a hill in Scotland, hiding from Crocs in the Northern Territories, dodging ladyboy muggers in Vietnam or recovering from climbing the Pinnacles in Mulu, it's still capable of delivering a good quantity of whisky on time and never runs out of batteries.

Bizarrely, despite the fact it was bought used as army surplus, the man in the shop gave me money off because it was 'shop soiled'!
