I always obtain the container first, for whatever situation that may be then fill it. If you put the kit together first you end up carrying more med kit than anything else.

An axe in the leg was the worse bushcraft injury I’ve dealt with (not me), in that instance a standard dressing was all that was required, but a triangular bandage would have done.

@TeeDee I try and keep my kit down to a manageable size. Even for group use so it would be interesting to see what others list.

Your choice and good luck. I do find it odd? People agonize over THE BEST KNIFE, invest time or money in leatherwork and debate titanium vs stainless. But when a
Clotting wound dressing with ready ties, in a sterile package that can slip in a pocket is available it’s T E Lawrence time

If I am doing something where a cut to a major limb blood vessel could happen then I pack dedicated tourniquets, Hemoststic dressings and pain killers, plus a doctor or emt!
Having a friend to help is good. I’m not convinced that the “self application” tourniquets are that effective solo. I’m often found working near boat props.
