Evening All
as you know we took jake camping the other week and well his big sister was eager to go at some point so this saturday just gone we went again to my lil permission. but this time we went fully loaded! no little tent and so on this time it could only be described as full on expedition camping.

we took a massive tent(purchased for future family holidays) that we wanted to test out within a close distance to home to see how it went.

shannon and i went off to gather some Yarrow, its now sat soaking in some 40%vodka becoming a tincture.

Another woodlore knife being used to open jake's milk carton, i sense an ongoing theme here

jake showed off for the camera (again he is such a poser)

Shannon got hungry so a bowl of spaghetti bolognaise was needed
jakeandshanexpeditioncamp019.jpg

Then i taught shannon how to make charcloth
first you need some old denim, a tin and a sharp knife
jakeandshanexpeditioncamp020.jpg

stuff the tin full of denim
jakeandshanexpeditioncamp022.jpg

pierce a hole in lid of tin
jakeandshanexpeditioncamp023.jpg

place the tin on the fire
jakeandshanexpeditioncamp024.jpg

smoke will then escape from the hole you've made
jakeandshanexpeditioncamp025.jpg

it might even catch fire which isn't as bad as people would have you believe
jakeandshanexpeditioncamp029.jpg

sure looks pretty anyways :)

lisa and shannon made some bannock whilst i was feeding jake

by now charcloth is done

to celebrate its marshmallow and chocolate banana's for supper

And then time for the kids to go to bed

jakeandshanexpeditioncamp075.jpg

it went really well although i got strangely claustrophobic inside a tent i much prefer a tarp set up but for a change it was nice
shannon jake lisa and myself all had a good time
i think i need to get a pack horse or a sherpa for the amount of stuff we took tho

Hope everyone enjoys the photos

Hey Sam,

Great photos, thanks for sharing!

What did you use for the baby to sleep on and any special blankets for the chilly nights?

thanks!
