Escape from a WW11 POW camp

I know this is not obviously bushcrafty but I'm sure some was involved en route. Along with thousands of others my Grandfather escaped in 1940. My mum has dug out an old magazine article on it and I thought I'd share the story on my blog:

Thanks for sharing that Andrew. Your grandfather undertook an amazing trip that would have only been possible by being able to adapt to whatever his surroundings were with very few resources. Sounds bush crafty to me.

What an incredible story, you and your family must be very proud. It is a sad fact that these once proud "tommies" are now fading into history, having just recently lost my own father, who had his own stories, of those dark days.

Great story mate, what some men did in those days beggars belief, and they were just men some were no more than boys at the time, just to survive and get through it really is inspirational
