Dutch and British 44 pattern cups.

Bit of a random query.

Does anyone know if a Dutch 44 pattern mug will take a British 58 pattern water bottle?
I know the British 44 will.

I fancy getting myself a 44 pattern mug. Feeling retro and the Dutch mugs are way cheaper than the British version (and stainless steel ). But all my water bottles are 58 osprey ones.

Nope. Nowhere near, in fact the Dutch mug will almost fit inside a crusader mug.

Go with a crusader mug and cooker, much better than the dutch set up especially if you plan to heat meals with it. Can be had off amazon for £20 for mug and cooker.

Or go for a french issue aluminium mug - a lot lighter than the crusader, and is flexible enough to fit under the 58 patt waterbottle.
