Leave the flanges for the pin longer than you need. I curved the flanges around the pin by clamping the first pan support in the vice, and using pipe grips to curve the flanges round the pin and then cutting it to length, you need a nice tight fit. Then putting the outer pan support leaves in line with the first, clamped them in the vice, and curved there flanges round the pin too so I got a symmetrical arrangement. You have to off set the outer flanges toward the middle other wise it does not close flat. Careful when you cut the curved wrap aroundsas it's easy to cut them too short. I left one of the pan support leaves with all 3 flanges on to make stops for the other 2 so they only open to the right angle, as you can see in the photos. Get the width approximately right, and if you need it cut into the sides of the pan supports to make it wider if needed, they would be the flat bits where the trangia sits.
The aluminium is easy to shape, I used around 2mm thickness and providing you get it right first time, any fatigue just goes down as work hardening, just do not expect to be able to reshape it too drastically after the initial bend.
