Hi Joel, nice kit, " keep it simple son , keep it simple " ( Del Boy , i do believe ) in answer to your questions, yes there is a group meal on the Saturday after the walk , which consists of marinated legs of lamb , ( hangi ) cooked in a ground oven slowly on hot stones , its delicious ! and a huge pot of veg , also a huge beef casserole ( courtesy of Badger and Foxy , well Foxy really !) Its lovely . also i have all manner of pots and pans etc . so the use of a frying pan , is no bother. Nic to see you organised and looking forward to it ! Ivan...

Oh and i forgot to mention , a clotted cream tea , pimms and lemonade will be served on the lawn , sorry the marquee, or maybe just in the woods , on one of the glorious afternoons we will be having . How very civilized !!

That did actually make me laugh out loud! :D
I'm bringing scones and jam (Ivan is sourcing the clotted cream) and Pimms etc, but it's a 'bring your own tea' event ;)
Anyone bringing strawberries?

Foxy n myself have just returned from a mammoth tesco trip for the ingredients of the stoo & an extra leg of lamb for the oven ( i'm now officially broke! )

After having most of our gear already there i can't understand how we're filling a 35litre rucksack with food for 2 days, but i have to leave these kind of things to those in the know ( 1. a woman 2. a woman who has 2 mouths to feed which include a teenager and a husband 3. knowing that husband keeps saying ' oooh we should get some of them ' and thus buying it, then packing it....)

Good innit :D

nice of the couple from the http://www.bto.org/ to call in and show us the birds they had netted for ringing that morning, shame i was on my way off site so couldnt chat to them about their work :(

Quick note from Belgian Bloke:)

Dear All, we had a fantastic time in the moors.
The welcoming you all gave us was great and trully appreciated.

Just for the record we stopped on a great spot on day two after leaving you, don t remember how it s called (corps something...) but was simply gorgeous.

Will always remember "Mr Ivan the terrible as crazy as box of frogs".

Once again Big Thanks, that encounter will be remembered.

Ben
