Idiots and those with ill intent always have and always will commit crimes without any recourse to what is or isn’t legal. Banning crossbows and so-called broadhead arrows won’t make any difference to those people. They will still find ways of sourcing those kinds of items for illegal use, and that includes any hand weapons from machine guns down to penknives.
Not automatically, no. But the chances of NI not following suit are negligible. TBH I'm very surprised they've never been subject to control here given that a 12 ft/lb air rifle is an on ticket item.If there was a ban in England would that automatically mean a ban in Northern Ireland?

Can’t wait for this to finally stop murder. People will no longer hurt each other, a joyous day for the UK.
If I were that desperate to own a crossbow, I would simply go out and make one, it is not rocket science. I do hope this doesn't start a slippery slope with restrictions on long bows next.
