Made these a while ago from various pieces of Angelica. The Coloured stuff was dried from fresh (thanks EdS) and the brown stuff was just naturally dried after the plants had died back. The tall one is about 8" high.

I used various bits of cordage to whip the ends for extra strength and to prevent splitting.
On the wide ones I carved a slice of wood for the bottoms and lids with a slight taper and a hole in the middle for the loop.

On some of the thin ones I cut the stem just above a node so that I only had to make a lid.

Handy for keeping things like bone awls and thorns in instead of a tobacco tin.

Thats very good. Quite thick for angelica. I can prolly get hold of some dried (so safe) giant hogweed, that would be good for containers like yours. Nice idea...

Beautiful. :)
I dried fennel stems and made pan pipes and a needlecase, but hadn't thought about bigger ones from angelica
