clothing suggestions

Afternoon all
bit of a weird one for you good folks today.
two of the residents where i work are going to lapland in december and need some suitable clothing, as i am known as the outdoors nutter i've been asked for suggestions of what they will need.
problem arises in that obviously if it were me there would be a leaning towards army surplus and/or expensive clothing with a slight green influence.
however for these guys (one gentleman and one lady) i suspect it would benefit them if the clothes
A) dont make them look like me
B)dont cost the earth as they arent minted
C) can be used in this country if possible.
D) Reasonably easy to put on/take of.

i'm looking for suggestions of everything from warm socks right the way to warm hat and everything in between. (preferably with links so i can show the manager )

Are they just going sight seeing or will they be taking part in activities like skiing, snow mobiling, snow shoeing etc?

The important items are footwear, parka, hat and mittens.

Feet: For meandering around town I'd suggest either a Sorrel type boot or the "P-original" which is sold over here (http://p-original.se.loopiadns.com/). The P-original is probbly cheaper (around SEK 1000) than the Sorrels. You -- or rather they -- might be able to buy them by mail order. Waterproof, super-warm, they'd generate envy the next time the UK snows in.

Parka; any decent down or non-down parka, sized a bit big, worn over wool or fleece will do.

Hat: Thick wool beanie, or one of the "bomber" hats.

Mittens: thick, with a good shell.

But all this depends on what they are going to do. And things like mittens and hats can easilly be bought once there, if they'll have time in a town (even the local grocery store is likely to have a selection, at least out in the countryside).

A good wool scarf will come in handy, as will wool/synthetic long johns.

they will mostly be sight seeing and spending a lot of time in adapted sleds being pulled by the staff.

Whilst in the sled being pulled along there is no reason why a decent wool blanket or two couldn't be used
